What to do if your child is quarantined

If the rest of the class is in-person and your child has to quarantine, please be sure to let me know.  While your child is home I will update Seesaw with any work missed during class.  The Digital Choice Board will provide lots of learning opportunities. Additionally, please have your child do the following every day:

  • Read for 20 minutes

  • Do 10 minutes of Lexia

  • Keep a journal-write for 10 minutes

  • Do 10 minutes of IXL or Moby

  • Spend 10 minutes on RAZ, Epic, Storyline Online, or BookFlix

  • Exercise!

Academic Update

We will

  • Learn about analyzing story elements

  • Work on letter writing

  • Study final consonant clusters (see below)

  • Continue to work with word families

  • Try new math games

  • Study place value

  • Use decoding strategies for unfamiliar words

  • Begin to learn about adjectives

  • Practice handwriting and keyboarding skills

Holiday Party

We will celebrate on Friday, December 18.  I plan to have pizza and a hot chocolate buffet. To offset the cost I’d be grateful for a $3-5 donation for each child. We will play a few games and possibly watch a movie.

      Week 8  October 26-30 Look What’s happening this week…  Monday  10-26 SEL Tuesday 10-27 Gym Wednesday 10-28 Art Late Start Thursday 10-29 Music Friday  10-30 Media Return Library Books Halloween Party Halloween Party Children may wear their costumes all day on October 30.  Please avoid bulky pieces and do not send weapons.  In the afternoon we will have a party.  Thank you to all who’ve offered to send in supplies. Food items must be individually packaged, store bought items. Classroom reminders  Please remember to send students with a water bottle and two snacks.  We break in both the morning and afternoon for snacks.  Thanks!
