Report Cards

Report cards will be coming home this week. Our grading is a 1-4 scale.  The target by the end of the year is for students to earn 3s.  This early in the year it is typical for students to have 2s and even some 1s.  If you see a 2 in an area of study that means your child is moving along toward that end of the year goal.  If you see a 1 that’s an indication that it’s time to devote some extra time to that skill. 4s are given when a child has exceeded the goal for the end of the year. You will notice that not every standard has been assessed at this time.  I have only recorded grades for topics that have been taught and worked on in class. If you have any questions about the information on the report cards or you’d like to set up another parent-teacher conference please contact me via email.

Positivity Project

The PTO has generously purchased t-shirts for everyone at Lincoln School.  We will be handing these out on Monday and asking students to put them on. Please dress your child in something that will allow them to put a t-shirt over top of their clothes.

Academic Update

Our main focus these two days will be reestablishing routines and procedures after a crazy couple weeks, and completing our Chromebook bootcamp. Students will be bringing home their devices for the Thanksgiving break. We strongly recommend the following:

  • Students should use devices in common areas

  • The computer should only be used by the student

  • Students should use their devices only for                                school-related activities

Weekly Word Lists

Due to the short week we will not have a weekly word list.

Masks:

One of the biggest things we’ve noticed is that the right fit matters a ton in terms of how well the students keep their masks on.

Obviously every face is unique, and no mask is truly one-size-fits-all, but here are some links to a few great, kid-sized masks.
